Bloom Box Fuel Cell Uses Secret Formula To Generate Clean Energy
Natural gas and oxygen are what Bloom Box uses to make electricity. This is with a fuel cell. "60 Minutes" Sunday showed Bloom Energy's Bloom Box to introduce it before it comes out on September 1. Bloom Energy claims the Bloom Box is an "energy server" that creates clean, reliable and affordable power. It's a stand-alone unit that some major corporations already are using it to supplement their energy needs. Bloom Energy also advertised that power plants and transmission lines of the energy grid won't have to be used with the Bloom Box. Price is a big factor within the Bloom Box. Unless it gets cheaper, it won't succeed.

The Bloom Box has been 10 years within the making. CBS News showed in the Bloom Energy "60 Minutes" feature that $ 400 million for technology was raised by K.R. Stridhar, company founder. The Bloom Box holds a stack of ceramic discs coated with secret formulas on each side. One side holds natural gas. The other side actually has oxygen. The disk creates an electro-chemical reaction between the two elements to produce power. The taller the stack, the more power is generated.
